Temperature dependence of the critical Josephson current in superconductor insulator normal-metal proximity junctions near Tc

Abstract

The temperature dependence of the Josephson critical current Ic(T) of a superconductor insulator normal-metal proximity junction near its Tc is derived from Ginzburg-Landau theory and the de Gennes boundary conditions. The theoretical result is in good agreement with experimental measurements of the proximity-induced Josephson effect obtained from Ta/Mo and Nb/Ta point-contact junctions.
