Abstract

This articleconstitutes a part of a special Plastics Technology report which presents the state- of- the- art processing plastics for packaging. Economic considerations are relating the present and future market for rigid containers. It has been concluded that, considering the economy, rigid plastic container producers have been holding ther own. Business has not exactly been booming for many the past few months, but some exciting developments are certainly under way technogically that should have signifiant repercussions on tomorrow's manufacturing systems. Future applications of blow molded rigid containers for household chemicals, food, and pharmaceutical are comprehensively discussed.
