Abstract

The optimal parameters for the inspection of a two-station unreliable machining process with blocking are provided. Blocking occurs when a processed part is waiting at one station for another station to become available. Numerical results provide insights into the inspection problem and problems related to monitoring and to measuring the performance of flexible manufacturing systems.
