Perturbative QCD predictions for large momentum transfer photoproduction

    Abstract

    We present the perturbative QCD predictions for the helicity amplitudes for γp → π+n, γp → π0p. γp → π-Δ++, γp → K+ Σ0, γp → K+Λ and γp → ρ{variant}0p, and compare the predicted differential cross sections with existing data. We discuss the sensitivity of the predictions to the choice of wave functions for the pion and nucleon, and propose an improved pion model wave function.
