Abstract

A cusptron oscillator has been set up. It uses a 16-slot waveguide for the generation of the 16th cyclotron harmonic TE02 mode (2π-mode operation) and the 8th cyclotron harmonic TE81 mode (π-mode operation). The output frequencies are 12.5 GHz and 8.33 GHz, respectively. Moreover, a 15th cyclotron harmonic TE02 mode has also been generated at 10 GHz via peniotron instability.
