Abstract

The subject of memories of childhood abuse is complex, and there is much that is not yet known. The field does not need work that is replete with errors, missing information, misleading and subjective comments, or the creation of issues that are nonissues. What is needed is a revised conception of the relationship between psychological science and professional practice that emphasizes the reciprocity of the two.
