Abstract

Two patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) presented with persistent, large, and painful oral ulcers. Results of cultures and examination of a biopsy specimen were negative for infection and malignancy. Major aphthous-like ulcers should be considered in the differential diagnosis of oral ulcers in the HTV-infected patient.
