Abstract

The use of frames are becoming a standard tool in the signal processing toolbox. Numerous known frame families are making difference in their applications, such frames implementable by filters bank (FB) are as follows: harmonic tight frames and equiangular that are purely finite dimensional, Grassmanian, Gabor and finally, cosine-modulated frames. Among the successful applications of frames are source coding that show resilience to additive noise as well as numerical stability of reconstruction, denoising, robust transmission, CDMA systems and multiple antenna code design. In addition, the frames were used for compression, segmentation, complex wavelet transform, textures decomposing, image interpolation and resolution enhancement, improving the classification accuracy of protein subcellular, signal reconstruction and others.
