Abstract

Improved machine components, automated systems (including sophisticated resin-handling operations and use of robots for parts removal), and measures to cut output-destructive downtimes are some of the ways injection molding production per machine and per plant will go up in the years ahead. Downtime problems particularly when changing production and material, are discussed as one of the most harmful events affecting productivity. Automated materials handling as well as automation of parts handling as big productivity boosters. Use of computer for production programming and production control.
