Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) performance of carbon-supported catalysts

    Abstract

    The performances of some Co(Ni)MoS catalysts supported on carbon nanotubes or carbon nanofibers, which are anchored on silicon carbide pellets or foams, were studied. The catalysts were synthesized using impregnation and were tested using plug-flow tubular microreactor. DBT and 4,6-DMDBT, benzoquinoline, carbazol, and polyaromatics (anthracene and phenantrene) were used as model components. The influence of these components on the HDS activity of the catalysts was determined.This is an abstract of a paper presented at the CHISA 2012 - 20th International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering and PRES 2012 - 15th Conference PRES (Prague, Czech Republic 8/25-29/2012).
