Abstract

Chirality is added to the core of the step-index fiber to model the chiral optical fiber.The eigenvalue problem is formulated in which the normalized phase constant b, the waveguide dispersion and the effective group delay can be derived. The drastic change of dispersion characteristics by chirality is shown by numerical results.
