Abstract

Effect of quench depth on grain structure in quiescently ordered polystyrene-polyisoprene block copoloymers was studied. Classical nucleation and growth kinetics were observed at shallow quench depths. The formation of disorganized grains with an average order parameter was the result of deep quenches. Light scattering data was interpreted with the help of small angle neutron scattering and rheological experiments. Extremely high nucleation density was found to be responsible for the fromation of nonequilibrium grain structure.
