Crossover between thermally assisted and pure quantum tunneling in molecular magnet Mn12-acetate

Abstract

Low temperature magnetic studies of thermally assisted and pure quantum tunneling in Mn12 were performed. The crossover between these two regimes was found to be either abrupt or gradual. Below the crossover temperature, it was shown that the magnetization relaxation becomes temperature independent.
