Abstract

A rare single nucleotide polymorphism (G→A) was identified at position 97 in exon 1C within the 5'-untranslated region of the human interleukin-1 receptor type I (IL-1RI) gene, using single-stranded conformational polymorphism (SSCP) analysis. Nucleotide sequencing confirmed that the polymorphism represented a G→A transition, which created a Sty I restriction endonuclease site.
