Abstract
The application of the NMR-MOUSE® (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Mobile Universal Surface Explorer, registered trademark of RWTH Aachen University) for performance tests on concrete-coatings is studied. In combination with a special lift, measurement depths from 0 to 5 mm with a minimum step size of better than 10 μm are possible. The measurement is non-destructive, so that not only geometrical properties such as the thickness of different coating layers can be determined but also functional properties can be investigated like the ingress of water into the coating as well as ageing processes.
