Abstract

A powerful and very general approach to nonequilibrium dynamics in 1D is presented. The method, based on coalescing random walks and Brownian paths run forward and backward in time, yields closed-form expressions in the scaling limit for a variety of aging quantities. This approach should yield exact expressions for aging functions in a wide variety of 1D systems.
